The recent passing away of James Earl Jones caught my attention. His distinctive, thunderous voice would be perfect for radio - and, sure enough he put his voice to use on a radio show known as Theater Five in an episode entitled "Incident on U.S. 1" aired on May 4th of 1965. The latest update to the Oxford English Dictionary includes almost 700 new and revised words - I'll focus on ten of these additions - incidentally, "jillionare" is one of the words I've chosen. The connection between plant based food and greenhouse emissions will be clarified in an article written by Dr. Pan He appearing in The Cardiff News on August 27th, 2024. Then - The Tyrone Circus Train Wreck of 1893 will be narrowed in on in an article written by Hannah Gampe on May 3oth, 2019. Six men and hundreds of animals were killed in this terrible wreck. This made me think of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder -known as "shell shock" (coined in WWI). We'll hear from a 91 year old gentleman who has dealt with his own case of PTSD and "survivor's guilt" for 71 years - his B-17 exploded over Berlin during WWII - he survived and in an article appearing in the Washington Post on February 27th, 2015, he talks proudly about helping current war veterans who suffer from PTSD.
