From the archives of the Southern Oral History Project, emerges an audio interview with 93 year old Flossie Moore Durham. Born in 1883, she shares her reflectins of life in rural Bynum, North Carolina. Then - the ten states with the highest per capita execution rates will be enumerated followed by an interview with Jerry Givens. Mr. Givens was the official Virginia State Executioner between 1982 and 1999. Next - we'll attempt to narrow in on the most remote "outpost" on the planet. The criteria used in determining the degree of "remoteness" is quite apparent in an article appearing in The Guardian written by Nicholas Gill on August 19th, 2015. Trains will then enter the scene - specifically, train wrecks. The 1903 wreck of the Old '97 will be covered and the associated song "The Wreck of the Old '97" recorded in 1924 by Vernon Dalhart will be played. The carnage will continue as what is referred to as "The Wreck of the 1262" will be elaborated on. The calamaty took place in Altoona, PA in 1925.
