A history of the blacksmith trade will be the show's first topic. Evidently, the folks at Old West Iron estimate there are only between 5,000 and 10,000 people who practice this craft in the United States. The last blacksmith in China's Shandong province will talk about his precarious situation - his name is Lyu Yuxiang. My weekly top ten list will be comprised of ten of the most dangerous occupations in the United States. The connection between Quaker Oats, Ful-O-Pep Livestock Feed, WLS radio (Chicago) and "The Man on the Farm" radio program will be outlined. An episode of "The Man on the Farm" aired on June 20th, 1947 will be played. The "greasy spoon" will surface next - I'm not referring to an actual spoon - it's the restaurant that comes into play. You might want to pay a visit to one of the best greasy spoons in the area - Whitey's Jolly Kone in Sacramento. It's been in operation since 1963!
