The HEAT will take center stage as an article in Scientific American narrows in on the record numbers of heat related deaths in Phoenix, AZ. The Society of St. Vincent De Paul gives us access to interviews with those who do their best to stay alive on the streets of Phoenix during the summer. Next - we'll head back to the 1930's and over to San Francisco while narrowing in on interviews with some of the folks who helped build the Golden Gate Bridge (completed on May 27th, 1937). We'll then move forward to July 30th, 1945 and listen to an old time radio show called "The Whistler". The episode is entitled "Summer Thunder". The Whistler was sponsored by The Signal Oil Company and was aired between May 16th, 1942 and September 22nd, 1955.
