The odds are we won't be seeing any rain in the Sacramento Valley for a number of months. That's nothing new. If you miss the rain and don't mind immersing yourself in it, you've got good company. Allison Ingleby shares her enjoyment of ambling through the rain in a publication called "Windswept Writing". The rain will clear and the show will heat up quickly as National Geographic dilineates a number of animals who don't mind the heat. Next - the Sahara Desert enters the picture. In an article appearing in LiveScience and written by Rachel Ross, the sizzling Sahara Desert's inhospitable temperament boils over. The Sahara covers approximately 8% of the earth's land surface and is creeping slowly but surely into sub saharan Africa. Niger is one of a number of countries located in or bordering the Sahara Desert. A town called Illighadad is located in Niger and that's where a musical group "Les Filles de Illighadad" emerged. I'll play one of their songs, "Telilit". The show will take a different path in the road and narrow in on a top ten listing of some of the more well known quotes that spewed out of comedian George Carlin's mouth during his 50 years of stand up comedy. Finally, an episode of an old time radio show, "Suspense" will be presented to the listening audience. This particular episode is entitled "Summer Storm", first aired on October 18th, 1945.
