There are countless stories focused on the human experience revolving around California in one form or another. Some are short tales, some medium and some of these tales are  quite lengthy.The following short stories are found in a book entitled "California Uncovered, Short Stories For the 21st Century". The book was published in 2005 and edited by Dan Quay, Chitra Banerji Divakaruni, and William E. Justice. The book focuses on a handul of short stories written by those who share with the reader their experience of living in California. One of these stories was written by Joan Didion entitled "From Where I was From". She spent much of her younger years living in Sacramento. I thought her story was especially significant as Sacramento is just down the road from Davis.In fact, I'd be willing to bet a fair number of UCD students currently hang their hats (or additional items) in Sacramento...
