Todays edition will begin with 20 effective (not necessarily) ways to get a good nights sleep. The next topic will focus on the origin of April Fools Day. A few April Fools jokes will be tossed in for good measure - these jokes involve a bee, an omelet and a flower.. Speaking of "special" days, when one thinks of Easter, often eggs and bunnies enter the picture. We'll find out why this is the case in an article appearing in a Saint Leo University publication on March 26th, 2018. Enough about eggs and bunnies - now it's time to discuss an issue that children in the past and evidently the present should be aware of. I'm speaking of the dreaded paddling administered by the school principle. I had thought this rather cruel form of punishment had faded away. However, this is not the case. In fact, as of August 2023, 17 states still employ this form of punishment. In an article written by Ryan Scandaglia in 2019 and published in "Children's Legal Rights Journal",  I will cover this rather painful topic. The weekly top ten list will focus on countries that have the tallest people. Hint the country that has the shortest people is not on this list...Did you ever wonder about the origin of the barber pole? Most likely you haven't. However, I'm prepared to share some in depth information about the pole. In an article appearing in "Sharpologist" on June 23rd, 2002, the origin of the red, white and blue pole will be elaborated upon. The next topic will focus on college radio stations and the students that keep these stations in full swing (think KDVS). Does your pet mean a lot to you? I know my cat means a lot to me. I thought I would share an article appearing in the New York Times, written by Emily Schall on 02.22.24, She informs us of a man whose pet possum was siezed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. He was heatbroken. Let's hope the authorities have some empathy and return the possum to his owner...
