Rich Blackmarr will host another Rockin' In Rhythm Archives edition of the Front Porch Blues Show tonight. The focus of the program will be on blues and bluesy R&B recordings that were first released during the last few months of the year 1957. Featured artists who created these 1957 releases include Joe Turner, Billy Boy Arnold, Big Maybelle, Junior Parker, Junior Wells, Big Mama Thornton, Jimmy Witherspoon, and many more. Note that July 1st was the birthdate for bluesmen Willie Dixon (1913), James Cotton (1935), and Syl Johnson (1939). Independence Day (1910) was the birthdate for Champion Jack Dupree.
