Today's episode is about how the RNA Integrity Number may be usable as a seed age prediction tool for wild rare plant seed collections in cryostorage. These recent findings by the NLGRP may prove useful for sustainabliy "checking on" the health of seeds while still leaving plenty in storage. The more accurate RIN can measure stored seed age, the better scientists can manage these collections--which is crucial in the fight for biodiversity conservation in a rapidly changing world!
