My weekly "top ten" list will be comprised of folks who are often considered to be among the nicest people in history. Next will be some accounts written by inmates as part of the Prison Journalism Project. I will proceed to contrast their lack of freedom with what it means to be free. Next, I'll reference one of my favorite bike rides - along the Johnny Cash Trail. One of the trail's spurs terminates at Folsom State Prison. The stark contrast between what it must be like to be an inmate behind those massive stone walls (built in 1880) and being free to bike ride adjacent to the prison brings about empathy for those within the walls. I'll proceed to comment on the road trip I made to Madison, WI back in 2013. The entry in the road tirp journal will focus on 10.17.13 covering the segment from Limon, CO to York, NE. This included paying a visit to KXXX in Colby, KS. (For purposes of clarification, on the 06.12.23 edition of TBA, I mistakenly referred to this station as "KAAA"). Then, I plan on letting our listening audience know of my decision to leave the corporate world behind in February, 1986 to travel across the country and live on the road for a few months. I'll speak of a fellow KDVS dj (Sillycy) and his decision  to head up to a very remote part of Alaska this summer to work at a fish cannery (freedom of choice). The importance of patience will be discussed and afterward, the dramatic increase of homeless folks in Sacramento and Davis will be highlighted. As time allows, I'll include a short piece from a book my dad wrote about his adventures in Egypt in 1996. I thought this would be cool because Father's Day will have ended right at the start of this show!!
