The Front Porch Blues Show

Rich Blackmarr will host the Front Porch Blues Show tonight. The first part of the program will feature eatrly Tina Turner recordings (with Ike Turner and the Ikettes) along with a survey of other R&B hits of the day that influenced Ike's approach to these recording sessions on Sue, Atco, Loma, Modern, and other record labels. Strong sellers from Ray Charles and the Raelettes, duos like Mickey & Sylvia and Inez & Charlie Foxx, and girl groups like the Blossoms and the Soul Sisters will be included to show this musical context. The second part of the program will include blues recordings from the mid-1960s by artists including Little Joe Blue, King Solomon, Lowell Fulson, and T-Bone Walker.
