Buried Alive in the Blues
Big Dave
Today is all about great guitar tone in the blues. "Great" is a subjective tone, of course, and so this is all over the place. You have the piercing treble of Otis Rush, the absolute on-the-verge-of-catching-fire distruction of Hound Dog Taylor, the smooth jazz influences of Robben Ford, or the utterly unique quack of Hubert Sumlin (pictured with his weird-ass Italian Bartolini guitar). It's all a beautiful racket. Plug in, count it off. Dig!
