The Front Porch Blues Show

Rich Blackmarr will host the Front Porch Blues Show this evening. The program will survey recordings from the year 1939, primarily blues records along with a few gospel and jive jazz numbers to provide a wider context of African American music from just before World War II. Artists will include Jazz Gillum, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Roosevelt Sykes, Georgia White, Washboard Sam, Merline Johnson, Big Joe Turner, Walter Davis, Rosetta Howard, the Dixie Hummingbirds, Leadbelly, Buddy Doyle & Walter Horton, Slim Gaillard, Ida Cox, and many more.
