This week on Local Dirt, we finished up a two part interview with Jared Zystro of the Organic Seed Alliance. In this part of the interview, we talked with Jared about the agronomy behind organic seed production: what it takes to produce organic seeds, and what potential there is to develop crop varieties that are uinquely suited to organic systems.

We also talked with Anotnio Roman-Alcala, a writer, thinker, and food activist who recently went to the VII International Via Campesina conference as a youth delegate representing the US-based Rural Coalition. Antonio shared his impressions of the conference, as well as what he came back thinking about in terms of peasant agroecology and rural organizing.
