This Sunday, January 15, 2016, in honor of the birth of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., New Day Jazz will broadcast excerpts from his sermons along with speeches from James Baldwin, Malcolm X, Stokely Carmichael, and Eldridge Cleaver. Also featured throughout will be poetry and jazz contemporaneous of the King Era, including Margaret Walker, Gwendolyn Brooks, Calvin C. Hernton, Amiri Baraka, Abbey Lincoln, Oscar Brown, Jr. and many others.
