Buried Alive in the Blues

Today is a dip into one of my favorite blues subgenres - West Coast Blues! It was born in Texas, in a sense, courtesy of T-Bone Walker, the godfather of all of it (pictured). It moved to LA, and focus on guitar with jump and swing elements - Louis Jordan with guitars, in essence - became the way. A small and dedicated community of fanatics kept it alive in the 60s and 70s and 80s, leaving behind a bunch of recordings that sound like, as one reviewer once said, "the 60s never happened." I LOVE it. You will too. Dig!
