The Front Porch Blues Show
JD Esquire
Rich Blackmarr will be your host on this Christmas edition of the Front Porch Blues Show. The first hour will feature a tribute to three jazz artists with roots in the blues who enjoyed storied careers before passing in 2016: Ernestine Anderson, Mose Allison, and Kay Starr. There will also be a nod to the recently departed Pete Fountain, Otis Clay, and Buckwheat Zydeco. The remainder of the show will feature blues, R&B, and jazz recordings with a holiday theme, including such classics as Charles Brown's Merry Christmas Baby and Please Come Home For Christmas, the Drifters' version of White Christmas, Freddy King's Christmas Tears, Amos Milburn's Christmas Comes But Once A Year, and Darlene Love's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).
