The Front Porch Blues Show

JD Esquire

Rich Blackmarr will be your host on the Front Porch Blues Show this evening.  The program will feature blues recordings from the year 1965, which was during the era when commercial blues recordings were finding a dwindling African-American audience at the same time that the folk and blues music revival was reaching a growing audience in the coffee house and festival circuit with a primarily white fan base.  Featured artists will include such re-discovered performers as Son House, Mississippi John Hurt, Elizabeth Cotton, and Rev. Gary Davis as well as urban blues stylists such as B.B. King, Otis Rush, Albert Collins, Koko Taylor, and Bobby Bland.
