In a bit of a departure from the blues, I'm paying tribute to one of the most astounding musicians ever to pick up an instrument - the great Jaco Pastorius. It would have been his 64th birthday this week, and the documentary Jaco came out on DVD on his birthday. His music is marked by his incredible virtuosity, impeccable groove, and relentless creativity. Enjoy the tribute.
