Tonight we pay tribute to the two Martins.  Martin Luther King Jr. and our fellow KDVS DJ, Ed Martin, who passed away 1/14/2015.  Both great men in different ways.

Martin Luther King Jr. lead the Civil Right Movement and made human rights a center piece to what he did.  He spent time in jail for his beliefs and defended the poor and non-represented.  He showed we can all come together and make change so future generations can have a better life.

Ed Martin was a long time DJ, not just at KDVS, but also at KVMR in Nevada City in the early to mid-80's and even earlier than that he was also a DJ, Producer and Music Director when he lived in Georgia at WREK, Atlanta. Ed always had a smile and a warm way of saying things. He helped countless DJs with advice and encouragement. He helped a friend who was battling cancer with taking him to treatment or look after his friend's store. Ed gave so much to so many people. He loved to talk politics and loved funny songs. Even though Ed lived in Nevada City, he would travel out to Davis sometimes on a weekly basis. He loved KDVS and he loved all the people who made it happen. He will be so very sorely missed.

Rest In Peace our great friend Ed Martin.

He rocked this crazy rock we live on and made it that much better!
