The Front Porch Blues Show
JD Esquire & Rich Blackmarr & TJ
Rich Blackmarr is your host this evening on the Front Porch and again the first Sunday of December. Tonight's show will feature blues recordings released in April, May, and June of the year 1957. You will hear a treasure trove of blues and bluesy R&B artists including Floyd Dixon, Lazy Lester, Percy Mayfield, Jimmy Rogers, Wynonie Harris, Dinah Washington, Jimmy Reed, Dolly Cooper, Bo Diddley, Lightnin' Slim, Magic Sam, Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm, Big Maybelle, Elmore James, Otis Rush, and Professor Longhair. You will hear fine examples of blues from some less well known record labels including Johnny Otis's Dig label, Ebb, Irma, and Cobra. The Dec. 7th show is shaping up to be a continuation of the survey of blues from 1957 (releases from July thru Sept.)
