The Front Porch Blues Show
JD Esquire & Rich Blackmarr & TJ
Rich Blackmarr hosts the Front Porch Blues Show this evening. The program will be a 2nd retrospective look at blues recordings that were released during the first half of the year 1955, when blues still represented a significant share of the hits on the Billboard R&B charts. Tonight's show will feature blues and bluesy R&B from the likes of Bobby 'Blue' Bland, Chuck Higgins, Clifton Chenier, Varetta Dillard, Titus Turner, Little Willie Littlefield, Chuck Berry, Jerry McCain, T-Bone Walker, Robert Lockwood, Billy Boy Arnold, Lula Reed, Earl Gaines and more, as well as a dozen or so artists included in the prior look at blues from 1955 on the August 31 FPBS. So you'll get another listen to period blues from Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Memphis Slim, Ruth Brown, Pee Wee Crayton, Johnny Ace, Etta James, and others.
