The Front Porch Blues Show
JD Esquire & Rich Blackmarr & TJ
Rich Blackmarr hosts the Front Porch Blues Show this evening. The program will be a retrospective look at blues recordings that were released during the first four months of the year 1955, when blues still represented a significant share of the hits on the Billboard R&B charts. From B.B. King's new theme song, his version of Everyday I Have The Blues, released on Jan. 1, 1955 to Howlin' Wolf's I Have A Little Girl, released on April 30, 1955, this show will feature blues and bluesy R&B from the likes of Dinah Washington, Sonny Boy Williamson, Etta James (her first hit The Wallflower aka Roll With Me Henry), Guitar Slim, Memphis Slim, Big Joe Turner, Lowell Fulson, Little Junior Parker, Big Maybelle, and Jimmy McCracklin. Blues from mid- and late in the year 1955 will be featured on Rich's future FPBS segments.
