Futurewang!! is Sacramento’s monthly happening for progressive jazz and hot fusion. November’s show is anchored by Tony Passarell’s Chikading trio and features special guests Grex, a Bay Area art rock band that includes guitarist Karl Evangelista, keyboardist Rei Scampavia, and drummer Robert Lopez. Grex has been called “completely original” (Eugene Weekly) and “true genre-warping music” (KFJC), exploring the meeting point between pop, psych rock, and modern jazz. Local guitarist Amy Reed opens the evening with a solo set.
