This week, we introduce the show and outline future segment topics, including interviews with community members, music-movie-book reviews, and other related banter.

We then discuss some California history, including the California Mission system and the gold rush (which entailed the genocide and relocation of Native Americans, a point many history books "conveniently" forget to mention).

We close with a book review of Deborah A. Miranda's Bad Indians: A Tribal Memoir. This is a must-read for anyone interested in Native American studies, California history, and/or decolonization.
