Elisa Rocket filling in for Sean!
When I was studying music at UC Davis and DJing at KDVS years ago, I would say that working at Smithsonian Folkways was my dream job. As the record label of the national museum, it focuses on documenting sounds and cultures from around the world, with beautifully packaged albums, extensive liner notes and rare recordings.
Well, thanks in a big way to my experience at KDVS, I got to spend the summer in Washington, D.C. interning at Smithsonian Folkways! Now I will share some of my discoveries with you.
