The first topic covered will revolve around slums in New Delhi, India as seen through the eyes of children who live in a New Delhi slum. Balaknava is a publication in which children are able to write about their experiences living in a slum. The ability to express themselves through writing has given thousands of slum dwelling children much needed pride and confidence. Moving on, myths about the nature of slums are uncovered and the truth reveals itself.How about at the opposite end of the spectrum. Are rich people happier than poor people? The weekly top ten list will be comprised of jokes/quotes revolving around money. From there, I'll elaborate on one of the most dangerous occupations - mining. The fatal injury rate in the mining industry is estimated to be 25.4 per 100,000 workers. The development of modern anesthesia will be discussed including the various stages of what happens to the body during the anesthetizing process. Sir Richard Branson will enter the picture as his recent private space venture (the Virgin Galactic) will be covered. The final focus of the show will be on the recent devastating earthquake that struck in the High Atlas Range of Morocco. Rather than narrowing in on the carnage, I thought it wouid be more beneficial to delve into people's tendency to help one another when disaster strikes...
