The Front Porch Blues Show

JD Esquire

Rich Blackmarr will host the Front Porch Blues Show today.  After reviewing the biggest blues and R&B hits of 1947 in a Dec. 2017 program, the show tonight will take a close look at the evolving post-WWII Chicago blues scene of 1947 including songs from Lil Green, Sonny Boy Williamson, Memphis Minnie, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon's Big Three Trio, Little Miss Cornshucks, and many others.  A listen to blues artists not included in the 2017 program will feature Helen Humes, Roy Brown, Cousin Joe, Gatemouth Brown, Marion Abernathy, Tiny Bradshaw, and more.  We'll also turn to developments in bebop jazz from 1947 by such artists as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, and Gene Ammons.
