Last Sunday, Japanese American activist Yuri Kochiyama died at the age of 93.  Kochiyama, affectionately described as the last revolutionary, fought ceaselessly for social justice after being interned during World War II.  Listen as she relates her internment experience and her subsequent work with Malcolm X in a 2006 Democracy Now! interview.

During the second half hour, Bugra Bakan returns to provide an update about ongoing protests against the corruption and repression of the Erdogan government in Turkey, intensified by the deaths of 274 miners in a mine explosion and the anniversary of the Gezi Park occupation.
