In inspiration provided by my friend Mike (known as the Polluter, if you're listening from 3AM), I'm kicking things off with the great and tragically overlooked Free, featuring the brilliant guitar of the late Paul Kossoff. Koss (pictured) was one of the true greats of early British blues, and Free was an astoundingly cool band. From there, I'm launching into a tribute to another tragically under-revered band: The Fabulous Thunderbirds! That's right - the OTHER Vaughan brother and his cohorts turned out some fabulous blues in the good ol' days, and Kim Wilson still fronts the T-Birds in inimitable style. Whew! Whadda week!
