Our guest this week, on the 5 o'clock hour, Juan Felipe Herrera. A key figure in the development of California literature, Mr. Herrera has most recently been appointed Poet Laureate of our state.

Also this week, a special birthday tribute to Charles Mingus, born this day, April 22, 1922. We will pay particular attention to the scarce and infrequently heard sides recorded for his co-operative label, Debut, founded with Max Roach.
