Interim Show!

Hello listeners, and thank you for tuning to this week's show.  I have some VDGG up first, a cut from Godbluff.  If you can believe it, I have been listening to and studying prog for almost 40 years now, and I just heard that album for the first time just this last week.  Man, where have I been?!  Also on the show today, Nektar, National Health, 21st Century Schizoid Band, Ain Soph, Gentle Giant and much, much more.  Please call me with your requests, suggestions, comments or just to talk prog.  I can also be reached at: djmarkuss333@yahoo.com.  Happy Holidays to you all!!!

Van Der Graaf Generator Scorched Earth Godbluff Blue Plate 1975, England; One of the progenitors of the original prog sound, way ahead of their time
Airbreak
Nektar Early Morning Clown Down To Earth Bellaphon Records 1974, Germany; From the forgotten or overlooked album. After their works from earlier in the decade, this one didn't measure up for a lot of fans
National Health The Collapso Of Queques and Cures Indies Records 1978, England; From the Canterbury school of prog, and very short lived compared to the others of this type of music
21st Century Schizoid Band A Man, A City Live In Italy self-released 2003, England; Ex-Crimson alumni collaborate and cover early Crimson works, primarily from the first four albums. Great Stuff!!
Airbreak
Ain Soph Natural Selection A Story of Mysterious Forest Spalax 1980/2001, Japan; Early prog and considered one of the best symphonic prog bands from Japan. High Quality sounding reissue
Gentle Giant Just The Same Live in Stockholm 1975 MLP Ltd. 2009, England; Another huge role in defining prog. From the world tour of 1975, and a band clearly at their peak
Il Tempio Delle Glessidre Boccadasse Il Tempio Delle Glessidre Black Widow 2010, Italy; New, modern Italian prog. Some derivation from classic 70s Italian prog, yet a strong fresh sound
Birdsongs of the Mesozoic Final Motif Dawn of the Cycads Cuneiform 1984/2008, USA; One of my favorite American bands. Eclectic modern composition in a chamber setting. Really interesting minimalistic approach
Airbreak

Inquire The Death of Ase The Neck Pillow MALS 2007, Germany; Interesting modern band performing a cover from the Dutch band Trace
Camel The Final Encore Rajaz Camel Productions 1999, England; Andy Latimer is the only surviving member of Camel by the time this is recorded. Still strong material from a man/band in existence since 1973
