We're pre-empted one last time for UC Davis football.  The Aggies take to the road for the annual Causeway Classic at Sacramento State.

On November 21, 1877, Thomas Edison announced the invention of the phonograph, a device for recording and replaying sound.  In May 1889, the first phonograph parlor for public listening to recorded sound opened in San Francisco. 

The West Coast Ragtime Society's 23d annual festival runs this weekend in Sacramento.
