The NorCal NoiseFest kicks off Thursday, October 15 with a preview concert at John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis and a KDVS spotlight on local artists. The festival runs October 16-18 in Sacramento.

On this date in 1604 (New Style), Johannes Kepler observed a supernova in the constellation Ophiuchus (Snake-handler), only 20,000 light years from Earth.  It was the last supernova in our own Milky Way galaxy.
