This year marks the 60th anniversary of Nakba (Catastrophe) which saw Palestinians uprooted from their home and forced into refgee camps such as the one shown here. My guest today is Ziad Abbas, the Co-Director of the Ibdaa Cultural Center, Dheisheh Refugee Camp, Palestine. While much of his work focuses on supporting youth in discovering and telling their stories, he is also documenting the oral histories of Palestinians forced from their homes in 1948. Abbas is in the United States doing graduate work in intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management.
