I'm headed to Austin for SXSW on Wednesday. The more I look at the schedule the more bands I want to see. There's not enough hours in a day to see everything that I want to see!

One of the hottest showcases will be from 4AD, featuring Camera Obscura, St. Vincent, Department of Eagles, M. Ward and Anni Rossi. Instead of playing the artists that will actually play the showcase, I will play a tribute to older 4AD bands.

I will aslo feature some SXSW artists that may not be well-known, but are definitely worth checking out.

They can be found in coffee shops or at political rallys with only a voice and guitar as weapons. They are singer/songwriters. They do fine with just a guitar or they might choose to recruit some friends to fill out the sound. Either way, the focus is on songwriting that is breathtaking.

There is a great deal of amazing singer/songwriters; therefore, the show will mainly narrow down to singer/songwriters from the past decade or so.... John Vanderslice, M. Ward, Erin Lizardo, Jonah Matranga, Cat Power and many more.

It will all be mixed in with the latest and greatest new music and some upbeat dancy stuff to get the morning going.
