We'll talk today with Mark Vance of the Nevada County Composers Cooperative about Wet Ink, NCCC's annual new music festival, and present music from festivals past. This year's festival will be presented on Thursday, June 28th in Grass Valley as part of Music in the Mountains Summerfest.
Today is the centenary of the birth of Alan Mathison Turing, OBE, FRS, generally considered to be the father of computer science.
He was tortured and hounded to probable suicide for his homosexuality in 1950s Britain. Prime Minister Gordon Brown made an official public apology for his treatment in 2009 after an Internet campaign on Turing's behalf.
