Rich Blackmarr will be your host on the Front Porch Blues Show this evening for another venture back to the heyday of the blues - recordings released in the first three months of the year 1956. With the death of the legendary B.B. King the program will include three of his numbers along with classic records from the likes of Big Joe Turner, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Etta James, Dinah Washington, Billy Boy Arnold, Johnny Ace, Ray Charles, Charles Brown, Titus Turner, Faye Adams, Ruth Brown, Elmore James, Lightnin' Hopkins, Bo Diddley, and many more. Also included will be a New Orleans-oriented set spanning Guitar Slim, Earl King, Smiley Lewis, Eddie Bo, and others. All in the context of what was happening in blues and bluesy R&B in 1956.
