The Front Porch Blues Show
JD Esquire & Rich Blackmarr & TJ
Tonight the Front Porch Blues Show will be hosted by Rich Blackmarr. He will also be hosting the FPBS on June 15. Tonight's program will be a survey of blues recordings released in the year 1967 and will include many records by artists that I have featured in previous Front Porch broadcasts that looked at earlier years in the 1950s and 1960s. Featured will be recordings from Percy Mayfield, O.V. Wright, Big Mama Thornton, Buddy Guy, K.C. Douglas, Slim Harpo, Muddy Waters, Jimmy McCracklin, Koko Taylor, Lowell Fulson, Howlin' Wolf, and many more. Also included are bluesier releases from R&B/soul stalwarts like Otis Redding & Carla Thomas, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Jean Wells, Otis Clay, and Little Richard, plus bonus tracks from saxophone greats King Curtis and Cannonball Adderley.
