A very cool show today - I have guitar builder Doug Kauer in the studio with me today. After donating for years to the KDVS fundraiser, Doug has come in to claim his hours of programming in presenting a tribute to the late Michael Burks. Mike passed on earlier this year, and Doug has a hand-picked set of Mike's music, including an exclusive live recording, what (we think) is the first ever on-air playing of his final Alligator album, plus plenty of personal stories about Mike and his relationship with Doug and the Kauer guitars family. Doug built Mike's favorite guitar (pictured), and was close to finished with a new one at the time of Mike's untimely passing. This is as good as it gets, folks. Dig!
