Last Episode of Full Disclosure/Final Reflections

Tonight, will be my last radio show as a regular/full-time KDVS DJ. My first quarter on air was on Monday mornings from 2-4 AM  in Winter 2007, when I was a college freshman living in the dorms. I alternated weeks with Brian Ang in what was also his first quarter on the air with his program "Farewell Transmisssion" and also had his last radio show yesterday as we are both moving out of our beloved "Fort Douglass" home to live in the Bay Area after having graduated from UC Davis last June. I have been actively involved with KDVS every quarter that I have lived in Davis. I spent four quarters on the air in a 9:30 AM to Noon slot in addition to a Midnight - 2 AM show in Summer 2008 and a 2:30-4:30 PM slot in Fall 2008.

Vancouver- Supercity of Amazing Female Punk/Grunge

I was lucky enough to catch White Lung play here in Sacramento on Wednesday- wow, way to rock my socks off! Reminded me of the Gits the whole time they played. Perhaps part of it was related to the fact they played at the axewave manor- a basement, but either way they blew me away. And apparently also their guitar, it broke two strings, effectively ending the show, unfortunately. Is grunge coming back into fashion? Probably not, but maybe it never died in Vancouver.

Nu Sensae also has a new record out, TV, Death, and the Devil, which is equally awesome. They played here in Sacramento at the Sol Collective and were very good- but I like White Lung's fuller sound more, personally.

What The Hell Is Going On With All These All Ages Venues Closing????

Listening to music is great, but seeing a band play live is the best.  Even videos of live bands playing aren't as great as being at an actual live show.  People always complain that youth have nothing to do.  Youth complain that they have nothing to do.  Then stop making it sooo hard to keep an all ages venue open.
