Join us for a celebration of an American Holiday celebrating the freedom of all people. Juneteenth is an annual observance to remember when Union soldiers enforced the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas on June 19, 1865, finally freeing all slaves in the country. It is sometimes referred to as the second Fourth of July because it was a major step toward full equality for all Americans.
Yolo County's event will have food, entertainment, educational presentations, art and crafts vendors and a "Hats Off to The Ancestors Extravaganza" hat fashion show that you don't want to miss!
It is a FREE family event that will be spectacular!
Brought to you by the Culture CO-OP, the Friends of the Yolo County Library, and the City of Davis Human Relations Commission.
